Beverly Hills DCP Sydney

Development Control Plan

Urban analysis of Beverly Hills Town Centre, including public and commercial space, dominant building types, road and water networks and adjacent neighbourhoods.
Located in Sydney’s southern suburbs, Beverly Hills owes more to its natural topography and creek systems than its current urban state would suggest.
An initial series of urban analyses reveal the urban potential of the now submerged creek system, placing all urban parks and new pedestrian networks into a legible sequence of varied public spaces.
A subsequent design strategy tacitly reinforces the geographical basis of the greater urban structure of the entire district, while providing alternative pedestrian networks between all urban spaces.
A new housing strategy alternatively addresses its bisecting major road network, sustainable design issues and rational construction, establishing also some rules of public and private context.
